Rather than the typical Amazon contemporary large and closed house, the DF House proposes a new sustainable typology adapted to the hot and wet climate of the Amazon: the house is a thin and long volume providing shade all day long on the living spaces.

The column-free groundfloor can totally open to the North-East in order to catch most of the winds and let those escape through the “chimney”-space created between the volume and the neighbor’s. The whole plot, including the garden, becomes then part of the living spaces.
